A Guide for Brides & the Bridal Party
DOs & DONTs!
Hair
- As a general rule please DO NOT wash your hair on the morning of the wedding, please do so the night before, however if you have extremely oily hair or any other scalp/hair condition please contact your stylist for advice.
- DO NOT put any heavy/oily conditioning treatments in your hair the night before as this will make the hair limp and not hold the style properly.
- DO NOT go to bed with wet hair, please blow dry before going to bed.
- DO NOT use a straightening iron on your hair the night before as this will affect the hair’s ability to curl the next day.
- Flower-girls - please be mindful of the style chosen for flower-girls under the age of 10, we have found in the past that with the excitement of the day these young children often run/jump around which can often have an adverse affect on a delicate hairstyle. We always endeavour to complete the children’s hair close to last but even the most expert of stylist cannot combat the exuberance of youth. Hint : try to have the children sit quietly after having their hair done, i.e. have books or a dvd on hand to entertain them until it is time to dress and leave for the ceremony.

Make-Up
- Prior to your make-up application DO NOT moisturise - cleanse & tone only, if your face feels dry please let the make-up artist know and they will apply a moisturiser that will not affect the make-up.
- If you desperately need to moisturise please DO NOT use a heavy oil/cream based moisturiser, please use a water based one.
- Please ensure that your face is devoid of any traces of old make-up, if the make-up artist has to remove any make-up then this can take time and affect the timing of the day and can place undue stress on the bride/bridal party.

General
- Please wear a button up shirt so that you are not pulling anything over your hair/make-up.
- If your dress is strapless please either do not wear a bra, take the straps under your arm or wear a strapless bra as strap marks on your shoulders can take quite a few hours to disappear and cannot be covered effectively with make-up.
- Try and put your dress on by stepping into it again to avoid damaging your hair/make-up. If it is unavoidable and you must have the dress put on over your head please place a silk scarf gently over your hair & face so that the dress slips over more easily and does not catch on your hairstyle/tiara etc.
- If getting ready in a hotel and you choose to wear a robe that is provided please be aware that if you pull the robe up around the base of your neck that the collar can have an adverse affect your hairstyle, especially if you are having a looser stye.

| If you have any questions or queries please consult with your stylist/artist prior to the wedding day. |

Stylists/Make-Up Artists requirements on the day
To assist your stylist and/or make-up artist with providing you with the most relaxing, stress free wedding preparation experience can you please ensure the following:
- Please ensure that there are plenty of normal chairs (dining style chair - without high backs) for the hair stylist/s.
- Available powerpoints as we often have quite a few sets of rollers & straightening irons to heat up.
- A table nearby to place the rollers etc.
- A stool if possible for the make-up artist to use - this ensures that the person having their make-up done is at face level with the make-up artist which is the most conducive position for professional make-up application.
- Please ensure that the location chosen for the make-up application have access to natural lighting, artificial blub & fluoro lighting does not give a true indication of the finished make-up application.
